This Cookie Policy explains how Socium IT LLC, a Georgia limited liability company d/b/a Vigilis (“Vigilis”), uses cookies and similar technologies on vigilis.io and the Vigilis platform. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include scripts, pixels, and local storage. They fall into two groups: cookies we set (first-party) and cookies set by our providers (third-party).
Cookies and Technologies We Use
On the vigilis.io marketing site, analytics, session replay, and advertising measurement run only after you accept them. Until you do, this site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. Cookies on the signed-in platform at app.vigilis.io are noted as such below.
| Category | Provider / examples | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Vigilis platform (session and authentication cookies on app.vigilis.io); Stripe (__stripe_mid, fraud prevention, at checkout); your cookie choice, stored in your browser’s local storage | Sign-in, session integrity, security, payment fraud prevention, and remembering whether you accepted analytics. Cannot be switched off. | Session to 1 year |
| Analytics | Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Usage statistics: pages visited, traffic sources, feature usage | Up to 2 years |
| Session replay | Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, MUID) | Records interactions (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) to improve usability. MUID is a Microsoft-set identifier Clarity uses to recognize a browser across sessions. | Up to 1 year (MUID: up to 13 months) |
| Advertising | LinkedIn Insight Tag (li_sugr, bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory) | Measures conversions from our LinkedIn campaigns and builds retargeting audiences so we can show later ads to people who visited this site | Up to 2 years |
| Product analytics | PostHog (ph_* cookies, on app.vigilis.io) | Usage events and feature analytics within the Vigilis platform | Up to 1 year |
Microsoft classifies the MUID cookie as an advertising identifier. On this Site it is set through Microsoft Clarity and used to stitch together session analytics; we do not use it for ad targeting.
We do not sell personal information collected through cookies. The LinkedIn Insight Tag does support retargeting, which under some U.S. state privacy laws counts as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. It loads only if you accept advertising in the cookie banner. See the Privacy Policy for how that is disclosed.
Your Choices
Analytics and advertising consent. The first time you visit vigilis.io, a banner asks whether to allow analytics, session replay, and advertising measurement. Nothing loads until you accept. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline.
Changing your mind. Select “Cookie preferences” in the site footer at any time to accept or decline again. Declining stops Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag from loading on later visits.
Analytics opt-outs. Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). LinkedIn members can control ad targeting in their LinkedIn account settings, under Advertising Data.
Browser controls. All major browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in and checkout.
Changes
We may update this policy as our tools change. The current version and effective date are always at vigilis.io/legal/cookies.
