What is Vigilis Flux?
Vigilis Flux is Bandwidth on Demand: the module that changes the committed rate on eligible circuits so capacity follows your operating hours on a schedule, or real demand on Auto. It began as a standalone platform and is now part of Vigilis. It runs on burstable services such as Lumen Intelligent Internet (formerly Lumen Internet On-Demand, or IoD) and on-demand Ethernet, where the carrier lets the committed rate flex up and down.
What bandwidth management software covers.
Bandwidth management is a broad category, and most of it operates inside your own network. It is worth separating the three things the term usually refers to, because they solve different problems and only one of them affects the invoice.
The distinction matters commercially. A dedicated circuit is billed on its committed rate, not on the traffic that crosses it, so reducing usage does not reduce the bill by itself. The committed rate has to change, and it has to change back before demand returns.
Vigilis Flux is the control layer for that. It stores each site's operating window or Auto floor and ceiling, applies rate changes through supported carrier workflows, records every change, and restores capacity when demand returns. A circuit must support rate changes in its carrier product and contract before it can be scheduled. Fixed-rate broadband and cloud-connect Ethernet are not treated as adjustable connections.
