Internet that scales itself
Vigilis Flux · Bandwidth on Demand

Bandwidth on demand, so you stop paying full price all night.

Your offices are empty most of the day, but your internet runs full speed anyway. Vigilis Flux, our Bandwidth on Demand product, turns it down when no one is working and back up before you open. It runs on burstable circuits like Lumen Internet on Demand, so you only pay for what you use.

How it works

Two ways Vigilis shrinks the bill.

Set it once
Schedules

Set your hours. Vigilis does the rest.

Tell Vigilis when each site is open, or let it learn from how you actually use the internet. It turns the speed down after hours and brings it back before you walk in.

  • Per-site schedules for every location
  • Learns your real usage if you let it
  • Override any time from the dashboard

Savings

Your bill follows your real usage.

Instead of paying full price around the clock, you pay for the speed you actually need each hour. The savings show up on the very next bill.

What you get

The simplest way to a smaller bill.

Turns down after hours Vigilis Flux

Vigilis Flux lowers your internet speed at night and on weekends, then brings it back before you open.

Uses supported controls Carrier workflow

Vigilis Flux requests rate changes through an eligible provider portal or API and records the result.

Runs on a schedule Automatic

Set your open hours once. Vigilis Flux handles the rest, every day, at every site.

Pay for what you use Savings

Your bill follows what you actually use, instead of paying full price around the clock.

Works on IoD and Ethernet Internet on Demand

Runs on burstable circuit types like Lumen Internet on Demand (IoD) and on-demand Ethernet, where the carrier lets the committed rate flex up and down.

One scheduling layer Eligible services

Supported on-demand Internet and Ethernet services can follow approved schedules from the Vigilis Flux dashboard.

Category guide

What bandwidth on demand means.

Bandwidth on demand lets an organization change the committed capacity of an eligible connection without replacing the circuit. Instead of sizing every location for its busiest hour and leaving that rate in place around the clock, the connection can run at a lower rate when demand is predictable and light.

Vigilis Flux is the scheduling and control layer. It stores each site's operating window, applies approved rate changes through supported carrier workflows, records every change, and restores capacity before demand returns.

Connection types

IoD, Ethernet, and burstable service.

Internet on Demand
Dedicated internet with carrier-supported capacity tiers that can be adjusted through a portal or API. Lumen Internet on Demand is one supported example.
Ethernet on demand
Layer 2 connectivity with adjustable committed capacity between supported endpoints.
Burstable bandwidth
A service with a committed baseline and additional available capacity. Billing terms vary by carrier, so the commercial model must be checked before automation.

A circuit must support rate changes in its carrier product and contract before it can be scheduled. Fixed-rate broadband and cloud-connect Ethernet are not treated as adjustable connections.

Use cases

Predictable demand is the best fit.

Branches and offices
Lower committed capacity after staff leave and restore it before the next business day.
Seasonal operations
Schedule known peaks for enrollment, reporting, retail, or production windows without leaving the peak tier active all year.
Temporary projects
Raise capacity for migrations, events, or planned transfers, then return to the approved baseline.
Resilience events
Use a controlled exception to restore or raise capacity when traffic moves to a recovery site.

Model an eligible connection with the Bandwidth Savings Calculator, then review the carrier rate structure before applying a production schedule. For product-specific eligibility and billing questions, read the Lumen Internet on Demand guide.

The story

The biggest single lever on your telecom bill.

Bandwidth on Demand, sold as Vigilis Flux, is one of five modules in the Vigilis optimization platform. On eligible services, scheduled committed-rate changes can align billed capacity with predictable operating windows.

01
Works with what you have
Runs on burstable plans like Lumen Internet on Demand (IoD) and on-demand Ethernet that can change speed.
02
Every site, one place
Manage the schedule for all your locations from one Vigilis Flux dashboard.
03
Model before scheduling
Compare the carrier's rate tiers and operating windows before approving a production schedule.
Pricing

Add Bandwidth on Demand to any plan.

$15 per service, per month

No platform fee. Available for eligible carrier services. Confirm the carrier rate structure before scheduling.

Vigilis Flux is our Bandwidth on Demand product. It scales your internet and Ethernet circuits to real demand, turning capacity down when sites are quiet and back up before you open, so you stop paying full price around the clock.
Savings depend on each carrier's pricing, the circuit's committed rate options, the hours a site needs full capacity, and the lower rate used off-hours. The Vigilis calculator models those inputs so you can evaluate a circuit before changing it.
On-demand connections where the carrier supports committed-rate changes, including eligible Lumen Internet on Demand and on-demand Ethernet services. Eligibility and timing depend on the specific carrier product and contract.
Yes. Lumen Internet on Demand (IoD) is a natural fit for Vigilis Flux, because it is built to burst up and down. We schedule the committed rate so you only pay for the speed each hour actually needs.
Execution timing depends on the carrier product and supported workflow. Vigilis records the request and result so the schedule can be monitored.
Use an approved schedule exception or request a supported rate change from the dashboard. Carrier execution timing still applies.
